When I import new images with categories that I have in my tree they don't update and the program duplicate the category.
Example:
(Before importing images)
Places (10)
--> Barcelona (2)
--> Madrid (3)
--> Girona (2)
People (5)
--> Maria (2)
--> Joan (3)
(After importing images)
Places (10)
--> Barcelona (2)
--> Madrid (3)
--> Girona (2)
People (5)
--> Maria (2)
--> Joan (3)
Barcelona (6)
Madrid (7)
Girona (4)
Maria (6)
(It should be)
Places (25)
--> Barcelona (9)
--> Madrid (10)
--> Girona (6)
People (11)
--> Maria (8)
--> Joan (3) |

| Categories names uniques in one level. You must select parent category (Places) before import. Anyway you can drag'n'drop any category (Barcelona) to the new parent (Places) and PJ merge these categories. |

It would be very nice to have an option / preference that would make categories unique globally - that is, 'Madrid' could only be placed once in the heirarchy. I know it's more flexible to allow duplicate category names in different branches, but the hierarchy would be more robust from a searching perspective if names were required to be unique throughout the whole hierarchy (and it sovles OTT's problem). Setting that as a preference would let the user decide how it should behave... |

Maybe the solution would be.
When you import the keywords should have to gone to a folder called for example: (imported keywords), Then a script would merge the imported keywords with the other structure of keywords, allowing to have duplicated keywords.
Example:
Initial state
Familiy
___Maria (2)
___Josep (6)
Names
___Irene (2)
___Maria (4)
Imported keywords
__Maria (4)
__Irene (2)
After apllying the script...
Familiy
___Maria (6)
___Josep (6)
Names
___Irene (4)
___Maria (6)
