To improve the 'write info to file (EXIF/IPTC)' function, instead writing all the category names assigned to a photo in the Keyword IPTC field of the photo, could it be possible to add an advanced feature where we could make a relation between an IPTC field and a category and let the categories that are not linked to a particular IPTC field in the Keyword field ?
Add a metadata (Shift + Enter) shortcut item in the right-clic menu when right-clicking on a photo (or a group of photos) in the workspace, in both view and browse mode |

A lot of my images have IPTC info in them.
It is good that Picajet automatically creates categories from Keywords, but I would like it to create categories from other IPTC feilds as well eg. City or Country etc
I know there are a lot of IPTC fields and Picajet cant create categories from them all, but Country and City and a couple of others would be good. |

XMP/IPTC Hierarchical Palet to Add or search.
Example:
XMP:Keywords
___People
_____Maria
_____Josep
_____Anna
___Places
____Les olles
____La marina
XMP:Categories
___Nature
____Animals
___City
XMP:Locations
XMP:Citiy
____Barcelona
____Girona
The XMP information in the tree should have to be personalizable.
User should can choose the concepts they want to insert.
This data should have to be writed to the original files.
The sistem schould have to be fast to use not like Photoshop Bridge. |

I found Picajet and right now I am testing free version but it doesn't allow me to save keywords or descriptions ..
1. Can somebody, full version user, tell me if the description and keywords written in Picajet are readable (compatible) with Photoshop CS Bridge browser ?
2. Is there an option to export EXIF fields as text files and import it from text files, I know that Extensis Portfolio has this option ? |

You can download and freely use the trial version of PicaJet FX during 15 days.

Yes. You can add description and categories to a photo and then press Ctrl + I. Then go to Customize... > Save Categories > Save Categories Structure. Because only PicaJet supports Categories hierarchy in IPTC fields.

No. But could you please explain when it might be useful. |

Thanks for quick response.
Basically it can be used with info integration with database programs.
Well, I have few thousands pictures and I would like to have database containing description, file name , date taken, keywords etc. If I could extract these metadata into text file I will set Microsoft Access database with these info.
Then I would like to write descriptions in Access and import back corrections into picture metadata.
Is there other simpler way to do it ? |

| Unfortunatelly currently PicaJet supports only export to XML. I can only mark this feature for the next PicaJet versions. |

What is the quickest way to update metadata in the pictures added already to the database? For example if metadata were changed in different program Picajet doesn't update the info automaticly nor notify about data changes.
Portfolio has this feature solved nicely, it is called "Synchronize Folder"
Are you planing to add something like this? |
