After I organize 1000 photos into many categories with many photos in several categories, how can I backup this information in case my computer crashes?
Also, can I move these organized photos to another computer without having to do this work all over again? |

You just have to backup the informations directly in the pictures by using the 'write infos to file' (CTL + I) command. select customize, select the options you want and click OK.
That can be very long if you have a lot of photos, don't forget to check the 'save categories parents' and 'save categories structure' checkboxes if you want to be able to recreate your all database just from your photos. After a while your database would be 'saved' directly in each photo.
To recreate your Picajet database back, (in case of computer crash or to make another database on another computer) you just have to re-import your photos and check the 'create categories from IPTC keywords' checkbox and all your categories will be recreated ! that's a quite long process (depending on your computer speed of course !) but it works great.
hope it helps

It is very strange indeed, I am working under XP and I never had a freeze problem, did you try to update a smaller number of photos (select only 100 or less photos and press CTL + I ) does it freeze too ? |

Actually, at this point I was only experimenting with 7 photos. Either this software or my computer has a Windows 98 problem. |
