Overall, I'm impressed with PicaJet. I'd like to use it with Fotki. A couple of problems, though:
1) After importing some 2700 jpg's, 8 showed up as 'corrupt' in PJet. Viewing in explorer, they are fine. They were all rotated from their original orientation, but many other rotated images were fine. It also looked like the associated Metadata may have been unreadable by the 'Edit Metadata' routine, but the same data showed up fine in the main screen file properties area. These pics were all taken with an Olympus D550. All others with another Olympus and a Canon were fine.
2) In the file property section, date created and date modified seem to be reversed. Date created is okay when viewed in the Edit Metadata box. |

Guest,
I'd like to second all the good things you had to say about PicaJet. I also had a problem "corrupt" files. This topic has come up a number of times so I assume it's fairly common. I imported about 7,000 images, many of them reported as corrupt. I didn't see anything obvious that the "corrupt" files had in common. They would show up in clusters or one at a time, in one case all the images in a sub-folder were reported to be corrupt. All the "corrupt" images that I examined looked normal in other viewers. I'm not being much help in tracking done this bug but I did find an easy solution. In PicaJet search for "corrupt" I found 961 files. Select them all CTRL-A. Delete. Confirm delete all from Album. Not to insult anyone's intelligence but do not, DO NOT select the checkbox to delete from the harddrive. You can now re-import all those files, PicaJet is smart enough not to bring in the duplicates. On the second import I got all the images that were previously classified as corrupt. Hope that helps someone.

I'm having the reversed date problem too. It looks like Picajet is taking the date and time from the exif field "Date/time". At least for my camera, the correct exif field to take this data from is "Date/time original". |

There is way to change date to another EXIF tag:
- Click on date in "Properties Panel" or on date in browser mode and choose "Get From" section.
- You can choose date from this tags:
EXIF Date Time
EXIF Date Time Original
EXIF Date Time Digitized
IPTC Date Time Release
IPTC Date Time Created
File Created Time
File Modified Time
File Imported Time
Of course this funcion works with multiply files. |

Okay, I fixed the ones already in my database, but it looks like I'll have to do that every time I add new photos. Can you make this a choice when the photos are added to the database or maybe put it in the program options to always get the date from your prefered exif tag? |
