|
I've already sent this via email, but no reply for a couple of weeks.....
Picajet installs fine, but when run the logo splash appears for 2 seconds. Then the program screen flashes up and vanishes. There's no picajet processes I can see running.
I can no longer run the trial version, as despite not woirking it expired. However the free version does the same. Help please, as I am keen to get it up and running (paid version!) with Fotki.
Thanks

Are you sure you are using the last version of Picajet (I mean 2.5.428 available since 21 july) ? I had the same problem but with the 2.5.428 it's over ! |

Thanks Nicolas
The version is that available for download today (25th July) from the site. Any idea how to check (given that it won't run?)
Thanks

OK I tracked down the new version 2.5.0.428 in the forum, but still have exactly the same problem.
It's testament to the great reviews PicaJet has had that I'm still trying!!!!!!!
Any other ideas?
Thanks

You can also try to move your database (by default it is located in : C:\Documents and Settings\'user'\Application Data\Picajet.com\PicaJet\2.0\Database
to another folder. then start Picajet, it should ask you to locate a database, after having selected the new path, Picajet should start normally (it worked with me with v2.5.427...)
After Picajet starts, check that you have the last version (help/about ... build 428) and you can also un-select the online update process (help/check for updates online) I hope it will work for you
cheers

OK tried that, and partial success.
Deleted the database folder and then the program opened. It asked me to 'open' a file (I guess the deleted database), cancelled this and selected new database. Program then opened fine, with access to all the menus etc.
I then selected my 'I' drive to be watched (this is a dedicated partition with around 12GB of our image mostly around 700k each). It seemed to do something, then closed down after 2 or 3 seconds. I can no longer start the software, and there is now no database in the same location.
Also tried uninstall and re-installing, and now there is no database under C:\Documents and Settings\Andrew\Application Data\Picajet.com\PicaJet\2.0 in fact the directory is empty.
Is it possible to wipe ALL traces of picajet from my machine and start again? (if needs be you can email that info direct to me). Also I wondered if it is the sheer bulk of images that is causing issue? Lastly when installing is dowes confirm the build as 428 beta.
Thanks again

Thanks again to Nicolas for all his help!
Sadly STILL no response from Picajet. Worse still is that even the uninstall doesn't seem to be working, as it left 37 files on my photo drive alone!
Please Picajet, CONTACT ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

I've been having the same problem. I emailed PicaJet and they asked for my database, image file, and version #. Since then I haven't had a reply (the last email was June 26). Also running XP SP2. It ran fine on my other laptop which has been in the shop for a month (Hurry up Toshiba!).
I find that I can run the program until I add a photo. Then to get it running again I have to delete the database.
I gave up for a while...hopefully we'll hear something soon...maybe we can find some commonality between our systems to find the problem; not sure where to start though |

Okay, I found the database files. If I remove the icon folder, it is 426Mb. The maximum amount my email account will let me send is 10Mb. Is there a way I can upload the files somewhere? |

As installed it works, until I import the first photo, then it close itself and each time i try to launch the program, after the splash screen, as said by andrewbond, the program screen flashes up and vanishes.
The version is PicaJet Free 2.5 (438) on Windows XP SP2.
I've tried to delete the database, and then the program start again until i import the first photo again, then it's the same story... |

1. Go to Registry and find this node:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER>Software>Picajet.com>Picajet>2.0>General>DatabasePath
2. Find folder with this path (C:\Database e.g.)
3. Please send us all database files.
Thank you. |
