|
|
I'm evaluating PicaJet.
This page suggests five main IPTC fields:
http://www.controlledvocabulary.com/imagedatabases/iptc_naa.html#IPTCchart
The five fields are: Caption, Keywords, Credit, Copyright, Object Name.
When select menu Window | Metadata I can see the IPTC fields in the file.
I can't find Caption and Object Name. Are other fields mapped to these?
Thanks in advance. |

The Caption/Abstract field of the old IPTC/IIM spec is now known as the "Description" in IPTC/XMP Core - and it maps to the "Description" field in Picajet's view of the IPTC metadata.
The "Object Name" field maps to the "Document Title" field in Picajet's view of IPTC metadata. In the IPTC/XMP Core specification, this field is now called "Title". From the spec: Title holds a short verbal and human readable name. Title is not the same as Headline. The Title property aligns with the use of Dublin Core's "Title" element.
If you get the XMP spec from the IPTC web at http://www.iptc.org/IPTC4XMP/ - look at page 15 of the IPTC Core schema spec. There you'll find a table that maps between Photoshop CS info, IPTC/IIM (both now called "legacy") and the IPTC Core XMP properties. _________________ Geoff Coupe |
