The EXIF/IPTC Metadata Editor in version 2.4.0 build 401 still seems to have some bugs.
For example, if I select "AutoFill IPTC", then the "Country" field gets overwritten by my name. Last time I looked, I wasn't a country...
It's also not really clear to me where the Autofill data is coming from - and it also seems to be a destructive write into IPTC fields that already contain data. It seems to me that the operation of Autofill would be to fill in fields that are blank, not overwrite IPTC data that is already present in the file. For that, I would have thought that the separate command to Write Info to Files (CTRL+I) would be used...
BTW, there is no mention at all of the Metadata Editor in the Help file, not even in the list of Hot Keys. And may I suggest that particular page be re-written a little. It really does not create a good impression to read "We insist on your using keyboard shortcuts". That smacks too much of "do it our way, or else..." I suggest that you retitle the page "Using Hot Keys" in place of "Use Hot Keys", and change the first sentence to "We suggest that you use keyboard shortcuts".

Just a followup - it looks like a pointer is one out in the editor. I've just tried to edit the IPTC date field, and found it contains a time (HH:MM) value. _________________ Geoff Coupe |
