Hi,
PJ 2.5 484
I think this problem has been already discussed somewhere in the forum.
Here is the problem.
I made a PJ album on an external HD. (HDD letter was H
Now, in another computer my external HDD letter is F. (I can't rename it to H: because this letter is already used by a network HDD)
So in manage album window I got a PJ album with wrong path letter.
If I add a new album an search it on F: letter, PJ reconise and load album. But I can't open any image because they are written with H: letter in database.
Well, in manage album window, on H: letter path album, if I do a rick click and "Locate on Disk" nothing appens.
Seems to be hang up with my H: letter PJ path album.

Could you please try: Tools > Recover > Manually... And change the root of the imported files. |

This doesn't work or I didn't find how to use "Set new path.." button in "Missing link" window.
Here is a good example to reproduce the problem.
Connect an external HDD to your computer. (G: letter for example)
Create a new album on this external HDD.
Add some images by scanning with PJ some directories.
Now save your album and close PJ.
Disconnect your HDD. (G: letter is not anymore used.)
Connect an USB key to your computer. Change letter if necessary. In order to follow example and reproduce problem, USB key has to take G: letter.
Reconnect HDD. Should take H: letter. (but not G/ wich is used by USB key)
Launch PJ :
PJ do not find album previously created in G: letter.
So, click on "Add" button and search for album into HDD drive (H: letter).
Select new added album and click on "Switch to.." button.
Now, your album is loaded but when you double click onto image it says that original is not any more available. (because in database it's stored under G: letter and path.)
I have tried as advised to use "Tools > Recover > Manually... " to change root path but it seems it doesn't work! or didn't find how to use this function.

Sorry for delaying with answer.
There is one way to fix this issue - you need manually change letter for drive H: to G:. Because PJ store the image path as whole path G:\someimage.jpg. etc. |

But sometimes you can't change letter drive and recover it because a network drive use already the letter.
It would be nice to have possibilitiy to change stored letter drive in database in order to recover albums.
To store letter drive independantly of image path.

I asked about this same problem in this thread back in March. I was told back then that... Quote: | The albums with relative path will be added to the next major PJ version. |
However, this thread is still waiting for a reply to the question of when will that update be. It would be great to actually get some answers to these questions. |
